• Shelter from wind, rainfall and sunshine are created within the structure.

• A highly intimate and personal experience is provided for the visitor.

• A single Iine in the landscape traverses the rear of the site creating a new horizon line of white and black when arriving by ferry this also linking to island architecture.

• Views across the pierhead are maintained from the existing houses

• Direct access from the marshalling area is provided for the disabled.

• A belvedere from the highest point on the site looks across Gott Bay providing an introduction to Tiree for arriving visitors or a memory for the departing.

• For the audience, an experiential journey through the piece intensifies, focuses and abstracts aspects unique to the island.
