The White Walled Corridor
The white walled corridor creates a linear cut in the landscape formed by two blockwork retaining walls providing shelter from the wind – at times it will also provide shelter from the sun, and in some weather conditions, it might also channel the wind. This white walled and grey painted, floored corridor, rendered to create an organic surface and provide evidence of the hand, will make the viewer focus on the sky and consider its enormity and beauty. At times, the walls will provide an almost dazzling sensation in strong sunlight, and a surface for shadows and the reflection of light and colour – the colour and tonality of the white walls constantly changing according to the sky, weather and time of day.
