Research
It was planned for the architects and artists to spend some time on Tiree researching aspects of its people, architecture and environment. Before this however a research document by An Iodhlann (a local historical group) commissioned by Tiree Art Enterprises was produced to give the architects and artists some background information.
During a period of five days, the group were busy looking and recording all aspects of Tiree and this research was to be the backbone for the final design ideas.
On the last day of research, Jake Harvey met with members of the public outlining the early thoughts on how the project may take shape.
Further meetings took place between architects and artists both in Edinburgh and over a long weekend at Jake Harvey’s studio in the Borders where a model of the proposed design was produced.
